Welcome

The year is 2008, the place is Toronto Canada, and the move-MEANT is GBA

“Before the lights and the cameras… Before the money and the marketing… Before the products and the packaging… There was authenticity. When “rappers” were still “Emcees”, and every park bench, stair-well, and front porch was a performance venue… When people spoke because they had something to say, and NOT because they had to say something. Expression was everything! Hip hop culture was born…

At first, this created an exclusive community which spoke, in large part, to, of, and for itself. However, as this “passing trend” began to settle in to other factions of society it seemed hip hop had lost control of her self…

Now, with the medium outweighing the message, and dollars outweighing sense it appears all hope is lost. Fear not! For amidst the anarchy survives a small but growing number of purists who remain rooted in philosophies that once governed this budding sub-culture…

We lead by example {imagine}, we teach for the sake of teaching {really}, and we seek to restore order and dignity within our respective sections of the greater community {believe}. Coming from, and residing at all points on the social, economic, and creative spectrums… We often have more differences than similarities. It is this traditional belief system, however, that makes us all GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION!”
